An inquiry into opening the eye, the mind, and the heart to outside scrutiny. A collection of sights, thoughts, and emotions backed by pictures, sounds, and multimedia events.
What if . . .
Others could see the world through your eyes?
What if . . .
The world could hear you thinking?
What if . . .
The world could use you as a resource?
On this page I’ll be detailing a proposal for the Open Network. The plan is to develop Internet search software (presumably a Gopher) that can collect impressions from people on a particular topic. It’s a way of promoting a collective intelligence. Right now the whole concept is rather half-baked, but I’ll be exploring concepts--and figuring out what can work and what cannot--as I learn more about the Internet and its capabilities.
Remember Spock’s Vulcan mind-meld? The Vulcans approached melding with extreme caution. The process could cause one or both minds to go insane while experiencing the other. There’s danger in sharing intimate thoughts, and it’s something to be considered as I develop Open Net.
Tapping into the larger collective consciousness is an interesting goal, and that will be the province of the Landmark Channel. We'll be looking at some cutting-edge concepts, like letting you see what the Interstate Highway camera net sees. Is your favorite interchange blocked? The Landmark Channel can get you the information you need--when you need it.

Meanwhile, here’s a link to

privacy.
